Man Assaults Cop With Fire Extinguisher in Woodbridge: Police

He had been seen using it to smash car windows, according to Prince William County Police, and then tried to spray a responding officer.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man seen smashing car windows with a fire extinguisher Friday night in the 3200 block of Ridge View Court tried to spray a responding officer with the device before finally being detained, according to Prince William County Police.

Christin Michael Rohyans, 32, of the 3200 block of Ridge View Court, was charged with assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, brandishing a firearm, obstruction of justice, destruction of property, disorderly conduct and being intoxicated in public.

He's being held without bond.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m., police responded to the scene and found Rohyans still holding the fire extinguisher, after which he fled into a nearby apartment.

Not long afterward, he came out and flashed what appeared to be a handgun while carrying the fire extinguisher. As an officer approached, Rohyans tried to spray him and then attempted to flee on foot before being corralled.
