WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man was seriously injured after being hit in the head with a baton and cut on the upper body with a razor blade early Wednesday in the 3100 block of Vanderbilt Court, according to Prince William County Police. Ulise Fael Hernandez Ortiz, 27, of the 7200 block of Commerce Street in Springfield, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. He's being held without bond.
Shortly before 4 a.m., police went to the scene for a reported assault. Their investigation found that the victim, a 28-year-old Maryland man, was involved in an argument with Ortiz, an acquaintance, that escalated. That's when he was attacked. He was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries not considered life threatening.
