A man beat a 63-year-old male family member with a cane and then bit a 57-year-old woman who tried to intervene Sunday in Woodbridge: Police
DUMFRIES, VA — A man beat a 63-year-old male family member with a cane and then bit a 57-year-old woman who tried to intervene Sunday morning in the 15000 block of Silver Leaf Court in Dumfries, according to Prince William County Police. Robert John Ginther, 31, was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and domestic assault and battery.
Shortly after 8 a.m., police arrived at the scene to investigate a reported assault. Police found that the older man had been involved in a heated argument with Ginther. The argument escalated, and the man was repeatedly struck in the head with a cane. When the woman tried to intervene, she was bitten by the assailant. Minor injuries were reported.
