Man Bites Off Part Of Woman's Finger In Dumfries: Police

DUMFRIES, VA — A Norfolk man is being held without bond after biting off part of a woman's finger early Thursday in the 17300 block of Kildare Lane in Dumfries, according to Prince William County Police. Shawn Joseph McCarren, 31, of the 200 block of Ethel Avenue in Norfolk, was charged with malicious wounding.

Shortly after 5 a.m., police went to the residence for a reported domestic incident. They found that the victim, 25, also of Norfolk, was involved in an argument with McCarren that escalated into violence. After he bit off part of her finger, he drove her to an area hospital, where police were contacted. McCarren later turned himself in to police.
