WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities in Woodbridge are looking for a man who broke a vehicle's window, shot at a victim, and then crashed a stolen vehicle on Sunday morning.

No injuries were reported in the shooting or the crash, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Investigators have described the suspect as a man with a heavy build who was wearing dark clothing.

The incident occurred just after 12 a.m. on Sunday in the 13600 block of Kingsman Road in Woodbridge. The victim, a 22-year-old man, told police officers that he left his home when he heard a car alarm going off. Someone had smashed the window to his vehicle, authorities said.

The victim saw someone walking down Kingsman Road and confronted them. The possible suspect then fired a gunshot toward the victim, the police report said.

The victim retreated to his vehicle and tried to find the suspect. Authorities said the suspect, while driving a different vehicle, crashed into the victim. The suspect then fired multiple gunshots toward the victim.

The suspect drove out of the area. Investigators said they found the vehicle he was driving nearby; it was abandoned. The vehicle was reported stolen on Dec. 15.
