Man Charged With Attempted Murder In Dumfries: Police

DUMFRIES, VA—A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed by an acquaintance Saturday afternoon in the 3300 block of Vineland Place, according to Prince William County Police. Andrew Delanie White, 51, of the 19300 block of Belleau Wood Drive, was arrested shortly afterward and charged with attempted murder, aggravated malicious wounding and burglary.

Shortly after 3:15 p.m., police arrived at the residence for a reported stabbing. They found that the woman, 49, and White were in an argument that escalated, after which he stabbed her in the upper body. He fled on foot but was found by police in the area of Naples Lane and Pine Bluff Drive and detained without incident.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries not considered life threatening.
