Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Child Family Member

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A Woodbridge man was arrested Dec. 4 for allegedly sexually assaulting a family member who was between the age of 11 and 14 at the time the alleged offenses, according to the Prince William County Police Department. Mario Alexander Amador Coello, 34, is accused of sexually assaulting the child on more than one occasion at a residence in Woodbridge.

Detectives with the Prince William County Police Department's special victims unit, with assistance from the department's school resource officer unit, determined the sexual assaults occurred between November 2015 and November 2019. An incident was recently disclosed to the school resource officer unit, prompting the investigation, the police department said.

Amador Coello is charged with two counts of rape and two counts of rape of a child under the age of 13. He is being held in jail without bond, pending a court hearing.
