Man Cleaning Illegal Gun Accidentally Shoots Into Neighbor's Home, Hits Water Pipe: PWC Police

A 19-year-old man has been charged with reckless handling of a firearm and having a weapon with no serial number.

WOODBRIDGE, VA – A man accidentally shot into his neighbor’s home while cleaning his illegal weapon, the Prince William County Police Department reports.

Arriving at the 5000 block of Anchorstone Drive in Woodbridge just after 8 p.m. May 2, police found that an errant shot had struck a water pipe in a home, damaging the pipe and nearby residences.

Police concluded that the accused, Elijah D’Mitri Miller, 19, of Woodbridge, was cleaning a firearm when it discharged. While investigating, police say they found that the weapon was an illegal “ghost gun” with no identifiable serial number.
