Man Dead After Shooting In Potomac Mills Mall Parking Lot

Prince William County police said the shooter remains at large following the Tuesday death in the Potomac Mills Mall parking lot.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man is dead after police said he was found shot in the parking lot of Potomac Mills Mall in Woodbridge.

According to Prince William County police, officers responded to the shopping center at 2700 Potomac Mills Circle around 7:10 p.m. for a report of a shooting. When police arrived, they located a single victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body.

A preliminary investigation revealed the 34-year-old victim was shot during an altercation with another man while they were inside a car parked in the mall's parking lot. Following the shooting, the victim got out of the car and collapsed.

Responding officers provided aid to the man before taking him to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

According to police, the suspect left the area in another vehicle following the shooting. At this time, police said the shooting does not appear to be random.
