Man Dies After Wreck on Cardinal Drive

A man died Tuesday following an accident last week on Cardinal Drive in Woodbridge, according to Prince William County Police.

The deceased has been identified as Leon Pomeroy Jr., 82, of Woodbridge.

At 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Pomeroy was driving a 2008 Toyota Prius heading south on Cardinal Drive at Swan Way.

According to police, he was attempting to cross traffic for a lefthand turn when his car collided with a 2010 Jeep Patriot that was heading north.

Pomeroy was not wearing his seat belt and was flown to an area hospital, according to police.

Speed, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in this crash.

The driver of the Jeep, a 31-year-old Woodbridge resident, was not injured.
