Man Rams State Police Cruiser On I-95 In Woodbridge
A lost control of his vehicle during a police chase on Interstate 95, spun around and intentionally rammed a police car in Woodbridge: VSP.

WOODBRIDGE, VA—A man who lost control of his vehicle during a police chase Saturday morning on Interstate 95, spun around and intentionally rammed a police cruiser head-on before fleeing on foot was arrested after being found hiding near Potomac Mills, according to Virginia State Police.
Joseph D. Deramus, 23, was charged with one felony count of eluding police, one felony count of attempted malicious wounding of a police officer, one felony count of assault on a police officer and driving the wrong way, as well as a previous probation violation.
Shortly before 9 a.m., police tried to pull over an Audi going more than 20 mph over the 65 mph speed limit near exit 156. Instead, Deramus refused to stop and soon lost control, doing a 180, and then intentionally hit a cruiser that was chasing him.

He then bailed from the vehicle and took off on foot. Prince William County Police and a Fairfax County Police helicopter helped with the search, and Deramus was found by a state police K-9 dog around 10 a.m. near Potomac Mills Circle.
