Man Shot In The Face In Dumfries Expected To Survive: Police
A 37-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the face after an argument in a parked vehicle in Dumfries on Sunday, police said.
DUMFRIES, VA — A man was shot in the face in Dumfries on Sunday evening, the Prince William County Police Department said.
The victim, a 37-year-old man, suffered a single gunshot wound to his face. Authorities said his injuries were not life-threatening.
A suspect, 25-year-old Ishmeal Lee McGriff, was arrested on Sunday in connection with the shooting. He is charged with aggravated malicious wounding, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and assault & battery. He is being held without bond and his court date is pending.

If convicted of all charges, McGriff could spend the rest of his life in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The shooting occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Sunday in a vehicle outside the Econolodge on Dumfries Road, according to the police department. Investigators believe multiple people were in a parked vehicle when an argument broke out.

During the dispute, McGriff shot the victim in the face, authorities claimed. The police department said McGriff ran away from the scene after the shooting.
Officers and police K-9 searched for McGriff and took him into custody without incident. No other injuries were reported, authorities said.
