A man was flown to burn center after he suffered serious injuries when a fire broke out at a home in Dale City on Tuesday morning.

DALE CITY, VA — One person suffered life-threatening injuries after a home caught fire in Dale City on Tuesday morning. The injured person, who has only been identified as an adult man, was flown by a helicopter to one of the region's burn centers, according to authorities.
Fire and rescue units were dispatched to a home on Montega Drive around 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday. There was a report of a house fire with an occupant still inside, the department of fire and rescue said in a report. Firefighters made it to the scene four minutes after they were dispatched.
When units arrived on the scene, they saw heavy fire and smoke emitting from the single-family home. Based on the extent of the fire and the possibility of a trapped victim, the fire department requested a second alarm to bring more resources to the scene.
