Man Threatens Children With Gun In Woodbridge: Police

A man threatened two children and a woman with a gun in Woodbridge and also fired two shots into a wall: Prince William County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA โ€” A man who threatened two young children and a woman with a gun in the 4600 block of Whitaker Place and also fired two shots into a wall was arrested Wednesday, according to Prince William County Police. Tasnim Tareque, 32, of the aforementioned address, was charged with two counts of felony child neglect and one count of reckless handling of a firearm.

Around 3 a.m. Monday, police arrived at the scene to investigate an alleged case of child neglect. They found that on July 18, Tareque was intoxicated and was said to have fired two shots from a handgun into an interior wall in the presence of two children, ages 7 and 6.

In a separate incident, according to police, he allegedly pointed the gun at both children, as well as a woman, inside the home. No injuries were reported. After a search warrant was obtained, police found a handgun magazine and ammunition. They also found the two bullet holes in the wall.
