Question 1: HOT lanes are coming to Prince William County. What are your feelings about HOT lanes and did you support this project?

When it was decided that HOT lanes were coming to Northern Virginia, I worked with VDOT and Transurban on a better deal for my constituents. Prior to my efforts, lanes were proposed to end in Prince William County, now they will be extended to Garrisonville Road.

Question 2: What ideas or solutions do you have in mind for transportation, and specifically commuters?

Transportation is a serious problem for the constituents of the Second House of Delegates District. We must be aggressive in enhancing all aspects, including rail, bus, car pools and roads.

Question 3: What are some non-core services you plan to target for potential budget cuts if elected?

As a Delegate, I will approach the budget as I have on the Board of Supervisors. I will target areas of waste and analyze each potential budget cut on an individual basis.

Question 4: What is the biggest issue facing the residents of the new 2nd House District?

Jobs. We've worked hard to keep Stafford County's unemployment well below the national average, but there is still room for improvement. Our Commonwealth needs to be a welcoming place for business and job creators. This can be achieved through less regulation and lower taxes.

Question 5: Should Virginia increase the gas tax to generate new revenue for transportation? How would you want to generate more money for transportation?

No. Virginians are taxed enough as it is, at all levels of government. We need to look at how we prioritize spending in Richmond and ensure sufficient funding for infrastructure.
