Matchbox Announces Restaurant's Opening Date

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Matchbox American Kitchen+Spirit will open its new Potomac Mills location at 5 p.m. Jan. 28. The free-standing restaurant is located near Cheesecake Factory, Bobby’s Burgers and Bahama Breeze.

This will be the third Northern Virginia location for the D.C.-based Matchbox brand, with plans for national growth through 2020.

The restaurant will have 350 seats, including a large outdoor patio.

The restaurant space utilized materials like salvaged woods, raw steel, and stone, along with design elements that include floating ‘box’ booths and reclaimed tables and wood for stair treads.

Diners can expect a wide variety of menu items sure to please every taste as appetizer offerings include spicy tuna tartar tacos and hot artichoke + smashed garlic dip. Lunchtime guests can enjoy sandwiches such as the prime rib French dip, whipped ricotta fettuccini, and entrée salads featuring seared tuna, greens, and crunchy ramen. Dinner guests will have a number of new choices including beet + burrata salad, prime NY strip, and PBR fish + chips. Regulars will find familiarity in favorites such as the 3.6.9. mini burgers and signature artisanal pizzas.

The restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner:

• Monday through Thursday from 11am with lasting seating at 10:30pm
• Friday from 11am will last seating at 11:30pm
• Saturday from 10am with last seating at 11:30pm, and
• Sunday from 10am with last seating at 10:30pm.

Brunch will also be served Saturdays and Sundays from 10am to 3pm. Enjoy happy hour specials on select wines, drafts, cocktails and bites, Monday through Friday from 3pm to 6pm.
