Moderna, Johnson & Johnson Boosters Available In Prince William County This Weekend

Some Prince William County residents are now eligible for booster shots of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccines.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Booster shots of the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson are now available in Prince William County, health officials announced on Friday.

Eligible residents can also "mix and match" vaccines for their booster dose. For example, a resident can have a Moderna booster shot, even if they received the Pfizer or Johnson & Johnson vaccines for their initial vaccination.

Booster shots are currently available for anyone who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, is 18 years old or older, and received their vaccine more than two months ago.

Booster eligibility requirements for people who originally received the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines are more strict.

Residents who received the Moderna or Pfizer vaccines are eligible for a booster six months after their second shot if they are:

The Prince William Health District, in connection with the Virginia Department of Health, operates a community vaccination center at the former Gander Mountain Location in Woodbridge, near the Potomac Mills Mall.

The vaccination center, located at 14011 Worth Avenue, Woodbridge, VA 22192, will offer first, second, and third shots of the Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines.

The Gander Mountain vaccination site is open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Walk-ins are accepted.

The Prince William Health District also operates a clinic at the Manassas Mall, 8300 Sudley Rd, Manassas, VA 20109. Appointments are highly recommended, and can be scheduled by calling 877-829-4682 or visiting the VDH website.

The Manassas Mall clinic does accept walk-ins at certain times:

  • Mondays
    • 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Walk-ins accepted
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer, and Moderna. The Flu vaccine will be offered while supplies last.
  • Tuesdays
    • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Walk-ins accepted from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson
  • Wednesdays:
    • 11a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson
    • Walk-ins accepted from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays:
    • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
    • Walk-ins accepted from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson
  • Fridays:
    • 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
    • Walk-ins accepted
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer and Moderna. The flu vaccine will be available while supplies last.
  • Saturdays
    • 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    • Walk-ins accepted from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
    • Vaccines offered: Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson & Johnson
