Mom's Apple Pie Shop To Close In Occoquan, Daughter Will Open New Bakery At The Facility
Mom's Apple Pie bakery, an Occoquan staple for 20 years, is closing. A new bakery from the owners' daughter will replace it in March.

OCCOQUAN, VA — Mom's Apple Pie bakery in Occoquan is closing this month after 20 years in business, owners Steven Cox and Avis Renshaw announced on Facebook on Thursday. The store's final day will be on Jan. 22.
However, the owners' daughter will open a new bakery at the same facility in March 2023. The new facility will have the same sweet recipes but with a new name and branding.
"Our long-time baking manager Debbie, who I am sure many of you have come to know over the years, is retiring and we felt it a good time to pass the torch," the current owners wrote. "A new bakery will be taking our place. Daughter #2 is opening up shop right here in our footprint!"

The wine and beer side of Mom's Apple Pies will be open for a few months after the bakery closes on Jan. 22, Cox and Renshaw said. However, it will permanently close and will not reopen with the new bakery.
"We are sad to be closing, but we are VERY excited that we will maintain a family presence in the Occoquan community that we love so much," the owners said. "Please keep your eyes peeled as we will soon be posting the new bakery name and contact information."
