Mother, Child Are Missing, May Be Endangered: Police

Amira Angelica Jones and her baby daughter were last seen on Aug. 3, say the Prince William County police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA โ€” The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the publicโ€™s help in locating a Dale City woman and her infant who have been missing since last week. They said Thursday that Amira Angelica Jones, 25, and her 1-year-old daughter, Aniyha Grace Copeland, may be endangered.

Jones voluntarily left her residence in the 3400 block of Beale Court in Dale City sometime in the evening of Aug. 3, the police said. A family member returned home from work the next morning to find Jones and her infant daughter had left the premises, along with their belongings, the police said. Family members contacted the police on Thursday morning after not hearing from Jones since she was last seen on Aug. 3.

The police said that Jones may need assistance, which qualifies her as being endangered, but they didn't release details. Due to Aniyhaโ€™s age and her motherโ€™s possible need of assistance, the police said they're concerned about the infant's welfare, qualifying her as being endangered as well.

The police describe Amira Angelica Jones as a black woman, 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighing 220 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. they said that what she may be wearing is not known.

Aniyha Grace Copeland is described as a 1-year old black female, weighing about 20 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
