Motorcycle Rider Dies In I-95 Crash Near Dale City: Police
A motorcycle rider died after crashing into the back of a VDOT vehicle on northbound I-95 near Dale City, Virginia State Police said.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — A motorcycle rider died on Wednesday in a crash on I-95 in Prince William County, Virginia State Police said.
Authorities have not publicly identified the motorcycle rider as they work to notify the rider's family.
No other injuries were reported.

An initial crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday on northbound I-95 at mile marker 155. A Virginia Department of Transportation Safety Services Patrol vehicle was stopped on the right shoulder with its emergency lights on, authorities said.
A sedan ran off the road and hit the back of the VDOT vehicle, police said.

"While conducting that investigation, a 2015 Harley-Davidson motorcycle traveling north on I-95 lost control, ran off the right side of the highway and struck the rear of the SSP vehicle," Virginia State Police officials said in a news release. "The motorcyclist died at the scene."
Authorities said they are still investigating what factors led to the crash.
