Mystery Shots Fired in Woodbridge Neighborhood
Prince William County police: Two incidents over weekend may be related.

Two reports of shots being fired in a Woodbridge neighborhood over the weekend may be related, according to the Prince William County police.
Shortly before noon Sunday, a homeowner in the 1500 block of Colchester Road reported to police that a bullet had entered an upstairs bedroom window and struck an interior wall. No injuries were reported, according to a Prince William police report.

The incident occurred sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Sunday, the police said, and it’s possibly related to the sound of gunshots reported nearby early Saturday, in the area of Melbourne Avenue.

At 2:30 a.m. Saturday, police officers responded to the 14300 block of Melbourne Avenue to investigate a report of shots fired. Several callers reported to police that multiple gunshots were heard in the area.
The officers checked the area and located multiple shell casings in a secluded area on a path near a pond, the report said. At the time of the incident, no property damage or injuries were reported.
