National Night Out Events Tuesday

Neighborhood watch groups hosting events in communities across Prince William County, in Manassas and Manassas Park.

National Night Out is Aug. 5, and police departments and neighborhood watch groups across the region are hosting fun events to build community involvement — the events also highlight making neighborhoods safer and building relationships with local law enforcement.

In Prince William County, 11 neighborhood watch programs will be participating. Police encourage residents to lock their doors, turn on outdoor lights and spend the evening outside with their neighbors. Check with your community’s neighborhood watch organizers for local event info.

In Manassas Park, the city is hosting a community event from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Signal Hill Park, 9300 Signal View Drive, promising displays by law enforcement, along with ”free food, fun and more.”
