Neighborhood Burglar Sought In Gainesville: Police

Authorities are looking for a burglar who roamed through a Gainesville neighborhood early Saturday morning: Prince William County Police.

GAINESVILLE, VA — Authorities are looking for a male who roamed through a neighborhood during the wee hours of Saturday morning and tried to break into homes through the back door — succeeding at least once —in the area of Catbird Drive and Sharpshinned Drive, according to Prince William County Police. He's described as white, between 15 and 25 with a thin build, and last seen wearing black pants, a light grey sweatshirt and a hat.

Around 3:30 a.m., police responded to the scene for reports of a suspicious person. Their investigation found that various homes in the area were targeted. Police also found that the suspect entered a home in the 14200 block of Catbird Drive and took an undisclosed amount of money from a purse.
