New Assistant Police Chief For Prince William County
Jarad L. Phelps, with 21 years' experience with Prince William County Police, will be the assistant chief of the Operations Division.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — There's a new sheriff in town, or something like that. Actually, it's a new assistant chief for Prince William County Police, and he knows a thing or two about the county — having joined the force in 1996.
Effective Feb. 18, Jared L. Phelps, a county native, will begin his new role as Assistant Chief of the Operations Division overseeing patrol services and the Special Operations Bureau.
He officially was promoted from captain to major last weekend.

During his time with the force, Phelps pretty much has done it all. He started as a patrolman and over the past couple of decades he has led numerous units. He's also involved with training new recruits.
Phelps has a master's degree in public administration from George Mason University, and a bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in criminal justice from James Madison University.
