New Rash of Tire and Rim Thefts in Woodbridge Area
Tires are disappearing in front of homes and businesses, in commuter lots and at car dealerships. 6 tips you need to know.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County Police is warning residents, business owners and commuters to keep an eye on their wheels.
A rash of tire and rim thefts continue in the Woodbridge and Dumfries areas. Since Sept. 2015, motorists are returning to their cars to find them left on cinderblocks or pavers.
This is taking place in residential and business lots, to include commuter lots and car dealership lots, according to police.

The targeted vehicles are typically Toyota and Honda, as well as other high-end cars.
And the incidents are occurring any day of the week, mainly during nighttime hours.

Six safety tips from Prince William County Police:
- If you notice any unusual activity, report it to the police immediately.
- If possible, park your vehicle in the driveway rather than the street.
- Keep your front porch lights on.
- Lock your vehicle at all times and don’t leave anything of value inside.
- If you have a vehicle alarm, ensure it is in working order.
- Neighborhood watch groups are encouraged to patrol, observe and report.
