NORML meeting in Manassas Sept. 4--the regular monthly meeting of NOVA-NORML, the N. Virginia chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, but this time it's in Manassas!

Our speaker is Dr. Mathew Shifflett of Pure and Simple Family Chiropractic--socializing starts at 7:30, meeting at 8:00.

Thursday, Sept. 4 @ 7:30 at Denny’s, 8201 Sudley Rd. Socializing begins at 7:30, meeting at 8:00.

Dr. Shifflett was arrested in June 2010, after police discovered a growing operation in the basement of his home on Black Stump Road. Come hear his story, including how he was found guilty of manufacturing and the effect it has had on his life and family.

“This meeting is an opportunity for us to engage more people in the western suburbs of DC who are looking to get involved in marijuana law reform or are merely curious to see what it is all about”, according to Duane Ludwig, Communications Director for Virginia NORML. “Hearing how Matt has worked through the system and dealt with the effect on his reputation is critical to help all Virginians see the effects of our antiquated Marijuana laws.”

Past NOVA NORML meetings have been held in Arlington or Falls Church, but NoVA NORML is seeking to make this month’s gathering accessible to supporters who live or work in the western suburbs of DC. Meetings last from 8pm until 9:30pm, with time for socializing a half hour before and afterward.
