Officer Facing Domestic Violence Charges In Dumfries: Police

Robert Edward Donnan has been reassigned to an administrative position during investigation, according to Prince William County Police.

DUMFRIES, VA — A Prince William County cop was arrested for domestic battery last week by fellow Prince William County cops, according to Prince William County Police.

Robert Edward Donnan, 40, of Dumfries, was charged Tuesday with domestic assault and battery.

Donnan has been reassigned to an administrative position, and his police powers have been suspended pending an internal investigation.

Around 11 p.m., police responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in Dumfries. The female victim, 40, of Dumfries told police she and Donnan, an acquaintance, got into an argument that escalated, after which he allegedly assaulted her.

Minor injuries were reported, and Donnan was arrested without incident.
