Pedestrian Killed By Train In Woodbridge: Police
Authorities said a pedestrian was fatally struck by a train as they were walking on the tracks near Veterans Park in Woodbridge.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a train in Woodbridge on Saturday night, the Prince William County Police Department said.
Authorities have not been able to identify the pedestrian. Their body was taken to the Office of the Medical Examiner for identification.
No injuries were reported by anyone on the passenger train, according to the police department.

The crash occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Featherstone Road railroad crossing near Veterans Memorial Park in Woodbridge. Authorities said the pedestrian was walking on the tracks as the train approached.
"The train engineer sounded the train horn to warn the pedestrian, who continued to walk within the tracks before being struck by the train," the police department said.

First responders pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene of the crash.
The police department said it would release the identity of the pedestrian in the future. First, the medical examiner will confirm their identity and authorities will notify the pedestrian's family.
