Police Ask for Public's Help in Locating Missing Teen

16-year-old last seen this morning at Woodbridge convenience store, say Prince William County police.

The Prince William County Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating a missing, endangered juvenile.

A caller reported to police that Yaritza Velen Avalos, 16, was last seen Wednesday morning around 9:30 a.m. leaving the Sheetz convenience store in Woodbridge. Avalos (in photo) is believed to have left the store voluntarily and may be in need of assistance, which qualifies her as being endangered, police said.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call police at 703-792-6500.

Yaritza Velen Avalos is described by police as a Hispanic female, 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 125 pounds with a thin build, black hair, brown eyes and wearing prescription glasses.

She was last seen wearing a green sweater, black jeans, black hat and possibly either black boots or white tennis shoes.
