Police: Attempted Murder Charges for Teen in Alleged Arson
Incident Sunday believed to have stemmed from an earlier argument, according to Prince William County Police.
A teen is facing several charges in an alleged arson in Woodbridge Sunday, according to Prince William County Police.
The 17-year-old is charged with 4 counts of attempted murder, 1 count of arson of an occupied dwelling and 1 count of manufacturing an explosive device/materials or fire bomb. His name is being withheld due to his age.
At 4:30 a.m. Sunday, fire and rescue units responded to a fire in the 14700 block of Marbury Lane in Woodbridge. The fire was quickly extinguished and the four adult residents of the home were safely evacuated without injury, according to Kim Hylander, a Prince William County Fire and Rescue spokesperson.

The Prince William County Fire Marshal’s Office quickly determined that the incident was an arson-related fire, according to Hylander.
An investigation with the Prince William County Police Department determined that the accused teen had been at the home earlier and was forced to leave because of an altercation, according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

“Officers were called and subsequently arrested the accused for drunk in public,” Perok said in a statement. The boy was eventually released to his parents. He’s accused of then going back to the Marbury Lane home and setting the fire, according to Perok.
