Police: Belt Used to Choke 11-Year-Old Girl
Woman is charged with strangulation in Woodbridge incident, according to Prince William County Police.

A woman is accused of choking an 11-year-old girl with a belt in an overnight incident Tuesday morning, according to Prince William County Police.
Demetria Michelle Bowles, 37, of the 15300 block of Gunsmith Tr in Woodbridge, is charged with strangulation. She is being held without bond.
Officers responded to a domestic assault call at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday in the 15300 block of Gunsmith Trail, according to police spokesman Officer Jonathan Perok.

“The investigation revealed that the victim, an 11-year-old girl, was choked with a belt by the accused, a known acquaintance, following a verbal altercation,” he said in a statement.
The belt broke and the victim ran to a bedroom where she called another family member, according to Perok.
