Police Department Participates in Thanksgiving Food Drive

Beginning Columbus Day, stop by and donate non-perishable food items that will be distribute that will be distributed to families in need.

If you find yourself near the Police Department’s stations in Woodbridge or Manassas – or at the Public Safety Academy in Nokesville – beginning on Columbus Day and continuing through November 19th , please stop by and donate non-perishable food items that will be distributed to families in need in the greater Prince William County community.

Collection boxes will be in the lobbies of the Gar-Field (Eastern District) Station, 15948 Donald Curtis Drive, Woodbridge (22191); the Paul T. White (Western District) Station, 8900 Freedom Center Boulevard, Manassas (20110); and the Public Safety Academy, 13101 Public Safety Drive, Nokesville (20181).

Specific items needed include soup (especially “kid-friendly” varieties), canned vegetables, pasta sauce, pasta, cereal, canned fruits, beans, rice, peanut butter, and jelly. Collected food items will be donated to SERVE’s Hunger Resource Center and the Haymarket Food Pantry. This sixth annual Thanksgiving Food Drive is the result of a community-outreach partnership between the nursing shared governance teams of the Novant Health Prince William and Haymarket Medical Centers, and the following organizations: the Prince William County Police Department, the Prince William County Department of Fire & Rescue, the City of Manassas Department of Fire & Rescue, the City of Manassas Park Department of Fire & Rescue, Wi-Not Stop stores and the Kloke Group.
