Police: Gun Went Off in Armed Robbery, Assault
Victim told police his gun was also stolen during the incident, according to Prince William County Police

A man told police he was assaulted and robbed Wednesday night in the Old Bridge Road area, according to Prince William County Police.
During the altercation, a gun was fired while the weapon was being used as a blunt object during the assault.
At 9:16 p.m., officers responded to the 3900 block of Penshurst Lane to investigate a robbery. The victim, 22, told police that he was confronted by two other men regarding a previous encounter.

A verbal altercation ensured between the three men which then led to a struggle. One of the suspects allegedly struck the victim with a gun, causing the gun to fire, according to police.
The suspects fled the area, but not before stealing the victim’s firearm, according to police. No injuries or damage was reported due to the gunshot, but the victim did suffer non-life-threatening injuries during the struggle.
