Police: Man Charged With Attempted Abduction
Witnesses tell police suspect grabbed 2-year-old girl and attempted to walk away, according to Prince William County Police.
A man is accused of attempting to grab a small girl and walk away, according to Prince William County Police.
Patrick Francis Rooney, 26, of 2604 Duxbury Ct in Woodbridge, is charged with attempted abduction. He is being held without bond.
Officers responded at 6:41 p.m. Sunday to the 1400 block of Geraldine Court, a town home community behind AMF Dale City Lanes.

Rooney allegedly approached a group of children playing in the area. Police allege that the suspect picked up a 2-year-old girl and attempted to walk away.
The victim’s brother reportedly approached Rooney and he got the small girl away from the man. A witness followed Rooney and contacted police.

Officers detained Rooney a block away on Golden Court. He was reportedly intoxicated.
No injuries were reported.
