Police: One Person Found Dead in Quantico Fire
Five others rescued; homicide detectives, fire marshal are investigating the scene, say Prince William County police.

One person was found dead Thursday morning following a fire in the town of Quantico, and Prince William County police and fire personnel are investigating the circumstances of the death.
At 7:20 a.m., police officers responded to the fire in the 200 block of Broadway Street to assist Prince William firefighters, who located one occupant who was deceased, the police said.

The fire occurred in an apartment building, according to media reports, and five other occupants were rescued and treated at the scene for non-life threatening injuries. Firefighters from Marine Corps Base Quantico also responded to the fire, WUSA-TV Channel 9 reported.
Currently, the incident is being jointly investigated by police homicide detectives and the Prince William Fire Marshal’s Office.

The identity of the deceased will be released once it’s confirmed and the next of kin are notified, the police said.
The town of Quantico sits on the Potomac River and is completely surrounded by the Quantico Marine Corps Base, but it’s part of Prince William County.
