Police: Stabbing, Interstate Chase in Weekend Arrest

Victim was trying to break up a fight when he was stabbed twice, according to Prince William County Police.

A woman is in custody after leading police on a chase up Interstate 95 this weekend after a man was found stabbed twice in Woodbridge.

Tina Nicole Scales, 40, of the 1700 block of Varsity Drive, is charged with malicious wounding, eluding and driving under the influence.

Police claim Scales stabbed the victim, 51, of Woodbridge, twice in the abdomen when he attempted to break up an argument between Scales and another man.

Officers had been informed Scales had fled the scene and her vehicle was quickly located by an officer, according to police spokesperson Officer Jonathan Perok.

“The vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and almost struck the officer’s cruiser head on,” he said in a release. “The officer was able to avoid the collision and pursued the vehicle onto I-95 northbound.”

Scales stopped near the Fairfax County line and was taken into custody. She is being held without bond.

The victim was flown to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
