Police: Teens Died in Murder/Suicide

Detectives and the Commonwealth Attorney's Office claim Lyle Ferringer was killed. The death of Indya Davis has been ruled a suicide.

Two teens found dead in a locked van in Woodbridge in October died in a murder/suicide, according to Prince William County Police.

Detectives and the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office have determined that 17-year-old Lyle Ferringer was murdered. The death of Indya Davis, also 17, had already been ruled a suicide by the Medical Examiner’s Office.

The bodies of the two teens were found Oct. 24 in a locked van in the 4400 block of Hamilton Drive. Both teens reportedly died from stab wounds.

The teens had been reported missing separately by family members earlier in the day.

Information found in the investigation led officers to the area of Dawson Park, where they located the van.

Detectives said Monday that they believe both teens went to the Dawson Park area voluntarily. They believe Ferringer was killed by Davis before she killed herself, according to police.
