Police: Three Attempted Burglaries Likely Related

Investigators believe that three recent attempted break-ins may be related, according to Prince William County Police. The incidents all occurred Monday morning in Triangle. 

At 6:44 a.m., officers responded to the 18600 block of Kerill Road, a block away, regarding an attempted burglary in progress. The homeowner told her that she heard her dog barking in another room.

When she entered the kitchen, she found a man trying to climb through a window. The woman screamed, causing the subject to leave on foot.

While at the scene, officers were approached by a second homeowner in the same block who had found shoe markings on her basement door.

As reported Tuesday, around 7 a.m., a resident in the 3700 block of Thomasson Crossing Drive heard something in his kitchen and found that an unknown man was trying to break in through a locked door. 

The victim scared the subject off. As police approached the scene, they spotted the subject running nearby. But, he was able to avoid police during a foot pursuit when he ran into a wooded area.

No entry was made into any of the homes and nothing was reported missing, according to police. 

The suspect is described as black, between 16 & 21 years of age with a thin build. He was last seen wearing a black coat and blues jeans, carrying a black backpack.
