Police: Woman Grabs Detective's Gun During Arrest
She brawled with cops Friday at Woodbridge hotel, say Prince William County police.

A 54-year-old woman assaulted four police detectives and grabbed one detective’s gun while resisting arrest Friday at a Woodbridge hotel.
There were no injuries in the incident, and the woman was taken into custody, according to the Prince William County police.

Marcia Lynn Martin, 54, of no fixed address, was charged with five counts of assault and battery on a law enforcement officer, one count of attempting to disarm a law enforcement officer, one count of obstruction of justice and pme count of possession of marijuana, police said. Her next date in court is July 17.
On Friday, detectives from the police department’s Street Crimes Unit were conducting a “proactive check” at the Inns of Virginia at 951 Annapolis Way, according to a police report. During the check, an officer with a police dog alerted detectives to a hotal room.

The detectives found a strong odor of marijuana coming from that room and made contact with Martin, the occupant. They attempted to arrest her, at which point she actively resisted, leading to a struggle, the police report said.
