'Potomac Shores' Elementary: Re-Name New School in Dumfries
A Prince William County Public Schools committee will be taking suggestions Jan. 30 at Potomac High School for a name that honors the past.

DUMFRIES, VA — For now, it's called Potomac Shores Elementary School, but that's not really the name of Potomac Shores Elementary School under construction at 2500 River Heritage Boulevard, according to Prince William County Schools.
That's why a meeting will be held 7 p.m. Jan. 30 in the Potomac High School gym, 3401 Panther Pride Drive, where a committee will field suggestions for a new name — a real name.
It'll consider "geographic or historical identifiers, as well as names of living or deceased person(s) who have made local, state, or national service contributions. Selection preference shall be given to those individuals who have made significant contributions to the field of education, especially within Prince William County."
