FIRING GOD: A Personal Account of Finding Freedom from Suffering
Woodbridge, Virginia,(Date) — Cheryl Abram’s first book, Firing God, has just been published by Non-Duality Press. The title of the book suggests the controversial nature of its contents and its challenging, though liberating, message. After all, who would dare to fire God in a world of increasing religious fervor? Cheryl Abram does.
ABOUT THE BOOK
“I grew up as a Christian (Southern Baptist) so I knew God’s general plan for my life. I had to obtain salvation, suffer, sacrifice, die, and then go to heaven. There could be occasional happiness somewhere in that process, but it wasn’t guaranteed. The only guarantee in this life was suffering but suffering was inevitable whether you were a Christian or not. No one escaped. However, as a Christian, I was suffering for a good reason. I was suffering because I was special, set apart, divinely chosen and destined for heaven.” However, Ms. Abram came to realize the “life is suffering” premise is false, and suffering is not necessary. In a simple and straightforward manner, the author describes her personal journey from “suffering” to “freedom from suffering.” Yes, she had to fire God, which she did by challenging all of her beliefs, even those that she initially regarded as sacrosanct. The author maintains that freedom from suffering is the doorway to an authentic, deeply meaningful life — whether a Christian, Buddhist, Jew, or even an atheist. And freedom from suffering is available to everyone, right now. Firing God is available to the public in paperback and Kindle formats from Amazon.com.

BOOK BUZZ
Firing God has drawn praise from distinguished authors and teachers in the field of radical contemporary spirituality called “non-duality.” Jerry Katz, creator of Nonduality.com has declared, “Cheryl Abram has written a book as timeless as her childhood in Pecan Grove and as relevant as what’s happening this moment in your own life.” Robert Rabbin, author of several books, states, “Cheryl Abram’s first book, Firing God, is the only book she’ll need to write. If you’re searching for missing pieces of your wholeness, struggling with unworthiness, seeking your true self, or hoping to enter heaven: read this book.” Pavel Somov, Ph.D. and author, says, “Firing God is a story of transcending spiritual consumerism and finding the church within ...”
