Prince William Co. Coronavirus Update: 508 Cases, 10 Deaths

There are now 508 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Prince William County, 10 deaths and 68 hospitalizations, as of Tuesday.

PRINCE WILLIAM CO., VA – There are now 508 confirmed cases of the new coronavirus in Prince William County, as well as 10 deaths and 68 hospitalizations, as of Tuesday afternoon.

The number of confirmed cases in the county jumped from 434 on Monday as officials continue to encourage residents to adhere to the temporary stay at home order put in effect by Gov. Ralph Northam.

Virginia now has 6,171 total confirmed cases of the coronavirus, with 978 hospitalizations and 154 deaths as of Tuesday morning. According to the Virginia Department of Health, 56 percent of cases in the state were at long term care facilities.

SCHOOLS

All schools in Virginia are closed through the rest of the academic year for in-person teaching in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Osbourn High School has tentatively scheduled its graduate ceremony for July 18 as it continues to monitor developments in the new coronavirus pandemic and adhere to guidelines put in place by the governor. MORE

There will be an emergency electronic meeting of the Prince William County School Board at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15. For more information, including how to access the meeting, go here.

The Manassas Park City School Nutrition Program will continue to provide prepackaged grab-and-go meals at no charge to all children ages 18 and under April 15 at 4 pm. Participants should enter the Manassas Park High School lower lot. Sets of five prepackaged breakfasts and lunches will be provided.
