Prince William County Elementary School Ranked Among State's Best In New List

WOODBRIDGE, VA – A Prince William County public elementary school was ranked 11th best in Virginia, according to a new ranking of the nation’s best public elementary schools by U.S. News and World Report.

The 2027 rankings were made using publicly available data from state education agencies by RTI International, alongside data from the U.S. Department of Education.

For the purposes of the ranking, elementary schools were defined as those offering either pre-K-5 or pre-K-6 education. For schools that have a wider grade span, only tests through fifth grade were considered.

Woodbridge's Mary G. Porter Traditional School came in eleventh in the new ranking of Virginia public elementary schools, the only school from Prince William Public Schools to make the list.

Nearby, nine Fairfax County public schools were included among the top 25, as well as six Arlington County public schools.
