PWC Accepting Applications For $48K In Grants To Expand Animal Catch And Release Program

County’s Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release (TNVR) program.

The Prince William County Police Department’s Animal Services Bureau, in accordance with direction given by the Prince William Board of County Supervisors, is accepting applications for funding to be used by community organizations for the expansion of the County’s Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release (TNVR) program. A total of $48,000 will be awarded to one or more qualified 501c3 non-profit organizations through the Community TNVR program for the purpose of increasing the number of sterilized cats in the community.

The Animal Services Bureau will hold an information session on Sept. 3, 2026, at 6 p.m. during which staff will be available to answer questions regarding this funding opportunity. The information session will be held at the Animal Services Center located at 14807 Bristow Road in Manassas.

Total Amount Awarded: $48,000

Individual Award Amounts: Recipient organization selections and individual award amounts will be based upon scoring criteria including an applicant’s proposed activities and program sustainability, as well as the number of qualified applicant organizations.

Deadline: All applications are due by noon on September 10, 2026; interested organizations can apply online.

Period of Performance: October 2026 – June 2027

Funding Requirements: Recipient organizations must

• be a non-profit organization with active 501c3 status
• have been in operation for 3 years or more
• include an existing focus on the community cat population in Prince William County

Grant funding awarded through the Community TNVR Program must include all of the following: sterilization (including pain relief), microchipping, Rabies vaccination, and ear tipping for each cat.

All organizations that receive funding must submit periodic performance and financial reports that will include metrics such as the number of cats sterilized, the zip codes of the trapping locations, the number of cats not re-released/euthanized, and details on how the funding provided was expended.
