PWC Police Ask Public For Help Solving 37-Year-Old Cold Case Murder
Prince William County police are asking the public to help them solve the murder of a Woodbridge woman in August 1989.

WOODBRIDGE, VA –Prince William County police are asking for the public's help in solving the cold case of a Woodbridge woman murdered in 1989.
The body of Diana Lynn Houle, 31, was found in her apartment at 4390 Whitmer Dr. #3 on Aug. 14, 1989. Her body was decomposing, and investigators at the time believed she'd been killed around Aug. 1. An autopsy revealed that she'd died of blunt force trauma, Prince William County police say.
Houle's murder is not the only unsolved blunt force trauma murder of that era: three years earlier, on May 21, 1986, Lisa Renee Trigg, 15, was found in a wooded area of Dale City. She was also determined to have died as a result of blunt force trauma. In 1987, it was reported that police had a suspect in Trigg's murder but lacked sufficient evidence to make a charge.
