Prince William County Police To Host 'Scoop On Scams' Webinar

The Prince William County Police Department is hosting a webinar on April 21 to provide residents with information on how to avoid scams.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — The Prince William County Police Department is hosting a webinar next Tuesday to provide residents with information on how to avoid scams. Although the webinar will not focus specifically on the coronavirus, scams related to the current crisis will likely be addressed during the webinar.

The police department's Crime Prevention Unit is hosting the webinar, which is called the "Scooop on Scams." The webinar is scheduled to begin at noon on April 21 and will last about an hour.

The police will provide residents with some common techniques used by people who create scams and frauds, how the scammers chose people to target, the different types of scams and how residents can protect themselves.

  • Download the WebEx app.
  • Dial 202-860-2110 and, when prompted, enter meeting ID 476 910 294
