Prince William County Police Officer Rescue Motorists Trapped In Overturned Car: WATCH

A Prince William County police officer was on his way home when he was alerted to an accident in a wooded area.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA – A Prince William County police officer helped save a 2 people trapped in a flipped car on his way home from work in February.

According to his department, Master Police Officer Brian Mundon was on his way home in Fauquier County when bystanders flagged him down to help with a crash in a forested area. Mundon found 2 people trapped in an overturned vehicle, one screaming and one unresponsive. Mundon was able to break the vehicle's windows and, with help from other stopped motorists, was able to pull the driver and passenger to safety.

Despite the wreckage, neither sustained life-threatening injuries.

Mundon has been with the Prince William County Police Department for 14 years, the department told Patch. They commended the officer’s quick response.
