Prince William County Schools Calendar 2022-2023: Holidays, Key Dates

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Like it or not, the summer is coming to a close for students and teachers from Prince William County schools. Though it may feel like summer just began, the first day of school is less than three weeks away.

This year, the first day of school is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 22.

Whether you and your children are looking forward to the upcoming school year, you will want to write down the dates in your calendar as soon as possible.

Here is the full list of dates to know for the 2022-23 school year:

• Aug. 22, 2022: First day of school
• Sept. 2-5, 2022: Labor Day holiday
• Sept. 26, 2022: Rosh Hashanah holiday
• Oct. 5, 2022: Yom Kippur holiday
• Oct. 10, 2022: Professional learning day; no school for students
• Oct. 24, 2022: Diwali holiday
• Oct. 31, 2022: Parent teacher conference day and professional development day; no school for students
• Nov. 8, 2022: Teacher workday, no school for students.
• Nov. 11, 2022: Veterans Day holiday
• Nov. 23-25, 2022: Thanksgiving break
• Dec. 19, 2022- Jan. 2, 2023: Winter break for students and teachers
• Jan. 16, 2023: Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday
• Jan. 27, 2023: Half day for elementary school students for parent teacher conferences
• Jan. 30, 2023: Professional learning day, no school for students
• Feb. 20, 2023: President's Day holiday
• April 3-7, 2023: Spring break for teachers and students
• April 10, 2023: Teacher workday, no school for students
• April 21, 2023: Eid holiday
• May 29, 2023: Memorial Day holiday
• June 15, 2023: Last day of school
