Prince William County Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) Honor George Washington

On February 14, 2026 members of the Colonel William Grayson Chapter, of the Sons of the American Revolution, participated in the annual George Washington Birthday Parade in Alexandria, Virginia. Some two thousand people from numerous patriotic and civic organizations marched in honor of America’s first President’s 294st birthday. The parade is the nation’s largest George Washington Birthday parade and follows a one-mile route through Alexandria, traditionally attracting tens of thousands of spectators.

The Colonel William Grayson Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution (SAR) is a civic organization serving Prince William County and western Fairfax County. The SAR serves and honors, veterans, first responders, Scouting America, Junior ROTC, and other patriotic, civic, and historical groups and organizations. Membership in the Sons of the American Revolution is open to the lineal descendant of a Revolutionary War soldier, sailor or Patriot. This includes persons who not only fought in the military or militia, but who also may have provided supplies, medical aid, signed oaths of Faith and Fidelity and similar acts.
