Prince William Forest Park Heritage Festival Saturday

A wide variety of activities and live entertainment are in the offing for the free event.

DUMFRIES, VA — A glimpse of the colonial era, the World War II era and the sounds of Appalachian music are all part of an eclectic mix of activities Saturday at the Prince William Forest Park Heritage Festival.

The free event, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. at 16675 Pleasant Road, will be centered around the historic Cabin 4 Camp, one of five historic cabin camps in the park.

Food vendors will be on hand, and bluegrass bands will play throughout the day.

Among the things to see will be an original Civilian Conversation Corps work camp, as well as a WWII-era spy training camp.

There also will be be demonstrations of colonial-area life, craft and various exhibitors.
